Long time, no entry
Whoa, almost a month since the last posting. A little hectic around here. Suzanne and the kids stayed a few weeks past Christmas and we spent a lot of time with them. The week after they left Dan came to work on our bathroom. I helped him and the kids stayed at Gma and Gpa D's. Then we went South to visit Mammaw for a few days. Things should calm down a bit now.
Lots of events have happened since the last update, probably the biggest being we have 2 mobile kids now. Libby started crawling on Gma and Gpa B's anniversary. Like Kolbe she doesn't crawl on both hands and both knees. She crawls on two hands, one knee and walks along with the other foot. The way she uses the other foot looks like a crabs claw. Quite funny to watch, but she gets around! Now that she's had lots of practice, she follows me from room to room around the house.
Kolbe's big acheivement: potty training! A few weeks ago we went to the park with neighbor Matthew and while there met up with Phillip. Matthew is 5 and Phillip is 4. When Kolbe stepped away I asked the boys to talk to him about wearing big boy underwear. They did, saying diapers are for babies and big boys wear underwear, etc. The next morning while getting dressed Kolbe announced that he wanted big boy underwear on and has been wearing them since. I didn't realize that peer pressure was so effective at such a young age. We've had just a couple of accidents, 2 peepee and 2 poopoo and have not yet attempted overnight dryness, but so far so good. I'll feel really confident when we hit the six week mark or so. The first part of June he was doing great with potty training until mid July when he stopped going in the potty completely, until now.
Another big Kolbe accomplishment: he got himself dressed without assistance. Libby gave him a round of applause and got really excited. I'm sure she had no idea what was going on but copied my applause and excitement.

Yay! You're a potty training pro! I'm sure it's all due to your clever mothering :) As for Miss Libby, time to babyproof again. Boo. Give Libby a round of applause for us. Now she will be able to escape when Georgey Porgey is around again.
